Hi all,
When I run MMBASIC DOS version on windows 10, some key's on the keyboard behave weird. I have checked the manual, and geoff's page, but did not find a clue on how to fix it. Tried running MMbasic as XP, or even WIN98 (as close as windows 10 goes to DOS).
The screen shows:
I type " (a double quote) I get 80 ("
Most characters are OK, but this also happens with ^ This is probably a very simple fix, or setting, but I am stuck.
Please hint .....

What keyboard settings do you have on your PC? It sounds like a key mapping issue.

Hi TassyJim,
Using a laptop, either with laptop keyboard, or with external USB keyboard. Both keyboards are listed in system manager as "standard PS2 keyboard" Language setting of the machine is English/USA.
I do notice however that on this machine when typing the " character, it always acts strange. in WORD I get double double quotes "" in NOTEPAD I get nothing, but when I type a character next, the double quote appears.
Looks like it is trying to compose a character or something.
I'll dig into this a bit myself, since composing characters is something that happens in Holland, where I live, so it may be a hidden language in this PC causing this.
I'll keep you posted...
Regards,
Harm

Solved !!!
The keyboard was set to "QWERTY - US-International" I changed it to "QWERTY - US"
now everything behaves as it should.
Thanks for the hint...
