Hi all, i have two projects for wind turbines for my allotment, one using a treadmill motor (4500rpm/12v/2hp) and recently i won an lg direct drive for a 1 (36p stator as above post). I was planning on using the first motor for a hawt and the second as a VAWT as i dont have anywhere i can put something up high. The land i intend to use is at the top of a valley - can get very windy, but i can only go about 10 - 15ft high.

i bought a cheap controller (see pic) and have mmpt controllers for solar. Can i cheaply combine one of these setups to include 300w solar system which i already have AND also I need to add a dump load onto the 300w controller or can i add it to the whole solar/wind setup - if so how?

Have 2 AGM 12v batteries and plan to run some lights, pump, fan = 200w max. But if this generates more, i may use it on my house.

Out of curiosity how many watts are ppl getting from the F&P 36 pole?

Hi druist

I've been able to get 1800 W at 650 RPM from a single 36 pole F&P stator. More power output is possible. This was using power factor correction capacitors whcih need to be set up correctly.

Check out my other topic 1.5 kW @ 600 RPM with PF correction for more detailed information.

Also have a look at flc1's f n p gridtie windturbine, triple stator as I know he has got 1 kW peak from a single stator on his new wind turbine build.
