' scen/step.txt - finding 2.9: how far a careful step goes.
'
' COLL.S GETFWDDIST looks at the block in FRONT of him, not just at where the
' edge of his own block is. Clear floor ahead is a full natural step of
' eleven; space or a loose board is a step to the edge and then the foot test;
' a plate, the sword or a flask is a step to the edge with no foot test; a
' barrier is a step up to the barrier. It hands back the kind as well as the
' distance, and CTRL.S DoStepfwd uses the kind to decide whether to test the
' ground at all.
'
' The port measured to the edge of its own block whatever was next, so on open
' floor every block boundary produced a foot test and no step was ever the
' right length.
'
' Level 1 screen 3's middle row is floor all the way across. He is put one
' pixel from the edge of his block, where the old rule would take a one-pixel
' step; the new one takes the whole eleven.

' it always was. Level 1 screen 8's middle row has floor at block 5 and
' nothing at block 4.
