One of only two Smiths songs in my collection (they tend to be a bit, depressing or "lower sixth" for my tastes)

Oh cr@p,just as we were getting along  

I must be the only guy on the planet who believes that JM is hugely overrated.

Yes, the Smiths had a unique sound but Marr doesn't sound too great without the awesome backing that never gets any credit.

I am a guitarist of 46 years, BTW and therefore not easily impressed.

You sound like my mate, Guy. He (bassist) raves about the injustices of the music world and has a similar view to you on the smiths.
