Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

In for a penny as they say.

I have in the past had success with simple adapter boards from PCBWay and I happen to have a $40 credit (I "won" in via Twitter).

I wanted to start with the "simplest" PicoMiteVGA build I could, and reference design#1 seems to fit the bill.

But when I upload the Gerbers I get the following:

The key thing being the bottom left of the image, where the silkscreen, copper etc seems not to fit the board.  I've not done anything to the Gerbers other than upload them.  My other (granted limited) experience with my own PCBs is that the generated Gerbers display fine.

Am I "doing something wrong" or missing the obvious?  OR maybe a better question would be are people building from these reference designs or is there others floating round (looking for as "simple" as possible - both to keep the cost down and to allow them to be potentially be assembled by a group of 17yos)

Other designs view correctly - so unsure what to progress with.

The other route is of course to have a go myself, my the only things I've made have been "passive" adapter boards, so am hesitant (due to personal ability ;-) )

Cheers

Hard to be more simple than Mick's PicoStick VGA

I ordered directly from JLCPCB using Mick's zip file. (You can get to his PCBs with the link in his signature line: Mick's PCBs in the PicoStick Construction Pack.)

I haven't yet soldered it up, but expect to soon. There's a lot packed in, so maybe not best for beginning solderers--but you don't need everything to get it up and running.

If the ref #1 design is matherp's, I used JLCPCB and got back good-looking PCBs.

Maybe PCBWay need some extra things?
