Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

A thing of beauty but at an eye watering price. Do you write to it as if it were a square 240x240 display and it just ignores pixels that are out of field ? Best wishes, Tom Edited 2021-12-15 20:26 by thwill Game*Mite, CMM2 Welcome Tape, Creaky old text adventures |

a) That requires me to have a good idea first. b) There might be a conflict of interest given that I suspect Lewis is hoping for (and will receive) my help in implementing his intended use for this device. Best wishes, Tom Game*Mite, CMM2 Welcome Tape, Creaky old text adventures |

Seems to be fubar for me too. Windoze can see the contents of the .zip but only the "PicoMite_Current_Bug_List.txt" file can be extracted; it just contains two intro lines and some ====, no actual bugs. Best wishes, Tom Game*Mite, CMM2 Welcome Tape, Creaky old text adventures |

At the time of posting there were no know bugs in 5.07.01 I can download the zip with no issue. Clear cache etc. |

Same result, I can download it but I can't extract it except for the bug list .txt file. Best wishes, Tom Game*Mite, CMM2 Welcome Tape, Creaky old text adventures |

i have found some of the .zip files posted to be unreadable (or one or two files within to be unreadable) when looking at the .zip file using the GUI-based 'Archive Manager' 3.36.3 that is bundled as part of linux mint 2032/xfce. however, using the bundled CLI 'unzip' command (UnZip 6.00 of 20 April 2009, by Debian. Original by Info-ZIP), everything is fine. i suspect the problem is that the .zip files are being created with something that introduces an odd/obscure incompatibility that affects some (but not all) unzip programs out there. the idea may be for the archives to be created using the simplest, most basic, options. since there are so many different compression options and variations available in modern zip file creation programs, it is easy to end up with a .zip file that makes use of something that is not universally supported. cheers, rob :-) |

Very possibly Rob, but I suspect Peter is just using the standard Windoze tooling (?) and creating it with "Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder" and likewise I'm just double-clicking in Windows Explorer and using the default tooling. Tom Game*Mite, CMM2 Welcome Tape, Creaky old text adventures |

my suspicion is that the 'default tooling' is what is causing the problem! cheers, rob :-) |

Hello Peter, Is that maximum filename length or maximum path length ? If the former then what is the latter, 128 chars ? Best wishes, Tom Game*Mite, CMM2 Welcome Tape, Creaky old text adventures |

It was 127 on all my ports I'm pretty sure it relates to the maximum length of any single element of a directory or filename. All of course subject to a 255 character maximum. Seems more useful on the Picomite to allow more files rather than silly long filenames but could be reversed |

http://geoffg.net/Downloads/picomite/PicoMite_Beta.zip V5.07.02b2 Fixes bug in day$(now) function Fixed memory leak caused by ctrl-C out of FILES command Fixes bug that added an extra space after a REM command each time the program was edited. Hello, is it possible to switch the console from USB to a COM port so that a serial connection with a specified baudrate could be used as console? (If not would that be difficult to implement?) Cheers, Fred |
