Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

OK, I've modified one of the web pages about re-wiring the F&P to use the new naming scheme. I've gone for #X#C, so a stator with 2 strings of 7 poles/coils in series would be a 2X7C, thats 2 times 7 coils.

The page also includes a sneak peak at the new page layout I'm working on. The menu is moved to the top of the page, just under the graphic. Having the menu across the page instead of breaking the page into columns gives a lot more flexibility to page layout and is also more printer friendly.

Let me know what you think.

Hi Glenn,

I like the new web page layout.
The artical looks and flows nicely.
The one change i would surgest is to change the word "Poles" used in the text to "Coils"
As the text swings between the two expressions and because the new coding uses coils now and not poles, it would make it less confusing to the beguinner.
This might be disagreed with by someothers who have become use to referring to poles but a change of thoughts by a few, would make it simpler to many who follows in the future.

I agree printable friendly pages are a must.
Great work as usual.

Good tips Pete, I'll make a point of using the word "Coils" instead of "Poles".

The new page layout is still in development. Colours and layout will change until I'm happy. The menu script is java based, but even if the end browser has java disabled, the visitor will still be able to navigate the site. Tests fine in IE and Firefox.

Well its take all morning and part of last night, but I've finally updated the F&P rewire pages to use the new naming scheme. Editing the images takes the longest time. I've also added the 42Pole 2X7C stator wiring diagram, its proving popular on 48volt systems and wasn't documented on the site till now.
